Genre plan for film opening

Genre Planning

In our group we brainstormed three main genres that we would potentially do for the opening of the film. These genres were; Horror, Action and Adventure.

Horror

Teen audience, many sub genres. opening usually equilibrium with suspicion of disruption. One main setting, character orientated and focus on them. 

Could be haunting, possession, killer or monster. e.g Insidious, The Exorcist, Scream and Jaws.

Action

All ages above 12, linked often with other genres to become a hybrid - Action/adventure. Fight scenes, lots of props and different settings. Mainly follows Propp's narrative Theory. Potentially Hero vs Villain. Films; Jason Bourne, James Bond, Sicario and Mad Max. 

Adventure

All ages, often linked with Action. Mainly includes a journey that needs to be completed. Also follows Propp's theory. Many settings and characters, orientated around a prop or destination. Films include; The Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Inception and Avatar.
